Adopted Roads dataset is a polygon feature class captured within the QGIS roadNet application. It is a tool for recording not only the local street gazetteer but a polygonised road network for displaying the extent of roads adoption.

Attributes are as follows:

Poly_ID: reference number

RefNo: range is 1-6 but further investigation of this attribute indicates that this is a legacy attribute from the previous ESRI based roadNet. This field is no longer required.

Rectype: 1, 2 or 4 (derived from National Street Gazatteer) 1 = Street Record (Named Road), 2 = Street Record (Un-named/Described Road), 4 = Street Record (Official Alias)

Desctxt: Street Name

Locality: Locality

Town: Town

LocTxt: Describes either the whole road or a section of the road

RdStatus: all 0 - All public polygons. This is a legacy field which is used differently depending on the local authority. I do not believe that it is populated in Renfrewshire and comes for the status contained in the Street record eg whether a road is open to public or closed etc.

Swa_org: All Renfrewshire Council - this is the Scottish Road Works register

Adopt_Date - where dates are known the attribute field is populated

Entry_Date: Data copied across from legacy system

Lor_no: all 0 values. This should show the Assessors reference number for this section of road. This is populated through the SRWR but does not appear to be exporting. Further investigation required,

Route: A, B or C road classification

symbol: 0, 2 or 11. This field denotes the styling and the adoptive status of a road. They should all be 11 as only public roads should be exported out of Road Network application. 0 is equal to no status (i.e the polygon has been captured but not assigned to a maintenance record) & 2 means the polygon has incorrectly been assigned to two or more maintenance records.

Element: describes the road polygon (carriageway, footway, verge, footpath). Where field is null this relates to polygons captured that have not yet been adopted by the Local Authority (21 of 17755 records). Kenny Robertson to investigate.

Hierarchy: all records are blank. Further investigation indicates that this is a field which is not populated by Renfrewshire. Other customers use this field for Road Asset Management purposes. To populate this field Renfrewshire would need access to another tool which Renfrewshire do not use.
